TAG are a major operator in executive aviation and were involved in a major development at Farnborough as a corporate jet centre. TAG contacted Resin Surfaces because of our extensive experience in manufacturing floor finishes for aviation environments and after an initial site visit, Resutile was put forward as the floor finish, as a Skydrol-resistant coating with a proven track record in the aircraft industry worldwide.

 

Notable applications have included British airways at Heathrow (where over 28,000 sq.m. has been applied including the Concorde hangar), Ameco in Beijing (at 31,500sq.m. believed to be the biggest hangar in Asia) and the Amir of Bahrain's personal B-747 hangar. In addition to being very hard wearing and highly chemically resistant, Resutile is also light-fast and can incorporate an anti-slip finish. Additional preparation by thermal lancing was advised to remove the deeply embedded oil in certain areas of the floor.

 

The result has been to transform the image of two old, worn hangar floors to bright, clean attractive working areas.
