A Single Solution For a Total Flooring Package!
Continental Teves need not apply brakes on production, with RSL products

An international car components manufacturer has benefited from a large factory floor resurfacing project, which used three key products from flooring specialist Resin Surfaces Limited’s (RSL) range. The project at Continental Teves, in Ebbw Vale, Gwent, involved surface areas of between 900m sq and 5,000m sq, including an iron galvanising plant.
The company, which produces brake callipers for automotive manufacturers including Ford, Volvo, BMW, Vauxhall, Toyota, Mercedes, and Volkswagen, employs 150 people at the Ebbw Vale site. The floors in the machining and assembly areas were in need of resurfacing after years of wear and tear. Contractor PH Industrial Services used three RSL products in three specific areas. Resucoat HB was installed in the largest area, a production floor covering an area of 5,000m sq.
This product is ideal as it is a heavy duty epoxy resin coating, easy to install over a wide area and provides an abrasion resistant finish. RSL also provided a bespoke colour for the project developing a special shade of grey exclusively for the site. Resuflor was chosen for use in a smaller production facility of 1400m sq, as a self-smoothing seamless epoxy resin, that has proven outstanding wearing properties. It was important that an easy to clean product was used in an area prone to industrial dirt, so Resuflor fit the bill perfectly.
Finally, Resuthane TG69 was installed on the floor of the galvanising plant. Due to the common working conditions, the finished floor needed to be resistant to the corrosive effects of the chemicals used on a daily basis. This was the difficult part of the project, as the new floor had to be installed around existing machinery, but Resuthane TG69 was ideal as it is a polyurethane resin screed designed to provide excellent heavy duty usage, with resistance to thermal shock, abrasion and chemical attack.
Managing Director of PH Industrial Services, Phil Hughes commented: “This was a very large project involving wide areas of surface, so it was important that we chose the correct materials from the outset. RSL’s products are extremely reliable and the installation process was very straightforward. The client is happy with the finished results, particularly on the galvanising plant floor, which faces the most severe conditions.”
