RSL gives historic museum an authentic finish
Date Posted: 06 July 2009
Specialist resin flooring manufacturer, Resin Surfaces Limited (RSL), has supplied its market leading products for a refurbishment project at a world class, open air museum in the West Midlands, where the 300 m2 automotive workshop has been given a heavy-duty floor.
The Black Country Museum, located in Dudley, is designed to provide visitors with an authentic impression of everyday life in industrial Britain. As such, the automotive workshop required a sturdy, traditional flooring system.
Flooring contractor, Flo-Dek (UK) Ltd, laid the installation using RSL products. To give the workshop an authentic feel, high build solvent free Resucoat was installed. Resucoat HB is ideal for workshops and industrial locations due to its hard wearing and chemical resistant properties. Dave Cope, Sales Director at Flo-Dek, commented: “Resin was chosen for the floor to make the showroom look as authentic as possible to give visitors an accurate impression of how such a workshop would have looked. In addition, the floor had to be tough to hold the weight of the vintage cars and ancient machinery displayed in the workshop. “We chose Resucoat HB for the project as it is one of the most durable high build solvent free coatings curently available.
Ivy Wroe, managing director of Resin Surfaces Limited, said: “Our range of products is very popular and often recommended for use in automotive showrooms and workshops. “It is always a pleasure to work with Flo-Dek as we have a strong relationship with the contractor and look forward to the next project.”
