RSL has always been at the leading edge of environmental solutions in the resin systems marketplace. Concern for the environment is natural to us and we have taken this approach for many years; this means that environmental impact and sustainability is a critical component of our decision making process.  It is this ethos that has established RSL as the UK manufacturer with the largest range of solvent-free, water-based products.

 

RSL believes every business should work proactively to reduce the impact of their activities on the environment.  We take an active role in our local community supporting both people and environmental initiatives; furthermore we work closely with suppliers and stakeholders internationally to both develop new sustainable products and to continually reduce our environmental impact.

• We must always strive to work with both customers suppliers who share our ethos; this helps us to achieve common environmental goals and make an even bigger sustainability impact!

• Simple changes are not enough, all businesses and all employees must regularly review processes and procedures, assess environmental risk, so that we foster a culture that considers and respects the environment at all times.

• We must always protect the people and environment in which we operate both locally, nationally and internationally to preserve our future and success.

 

Sustainable solutions

 

Here's what we are doing to help:

 

Reducing the use of solvents: RSL is leading the way, with the largest water-based solvent-free range of resin surface solutions, this means we give customers more choice and wherever possible encourage a solvent free solution; together we are dramatically reducing the mission of volatile organic compounds (VOC's).

 

Superior Products:  RSL systems are long-lasting with proven formulas that have been in-situ for over 10 years without need for renewal.  use of our systems eliminates the cost and energy involved in uplifting / removing other floors, manufacturing replacement floors and installation. 

 

Overlay or safely dispose: We're really pleased most customers return back to RSL for new floors; and they want to uplift their floor it can safely be removed as non-hazardous waste alternatively you simply re apply over the existing surface; again reducing waste and energy costs.

 

Raw Materials: As the leading UK manufacturer of resin  products we work closely with a range of suppliers; wherever possible using local raw material providers to minimise distances traveled and energy consumed developing our products.  Furthermore we support suppliers that use recycled and reclaimed materials to minimise environmental impact.

 

Minimising waste: Over the last year we've successfully reduced waste, wherever possible we eliminate waste and we work closely with suppliers so that waste isn't merely pushed back through the supply chain but reduced throughout.  We only use the most cost efficient and environmentally friendly waste disposal systems and suppliers.

 

It's the small things that count: Whilst it may be a given nowadays, where available we only use recycled office consumables.  We also ensure that we recycle all paper, cardboard, plastics, batteries, phones, toner cartridges, fluorescent lighting tubes and redundant IT equipment.

 

Maintaining our safe local environment: Working with our local environmental authorities RSL regularly assesses our manufacturing site to monitor the use of the surrounding land, water and atmosphere. This is part of our statutory compliance and includes assessing hazardous chemical substances, ventilation, environmental noise, water and sanitation and waste management.
